Novaterra renews its partnership with Mediclown, expanding support to bring comfort, care, and smiles to more children at SSRN Hospital.

Great news for the SSRN Hospital in Pamplemousses and its young patients! Mediclown, a professional medical clown program that operates in this hospital to bring smiles back to sick children, can once again count on Novaterra’s support this year to continue its beneficial work.

By renewing its support for Mediclown in 2026, Novaterra is setting itself a clear mission: to support the well-being of children in the region by helping the association implement its three-year development plan. The goal? To increase its intervention time from six to eighteen hours per week. An ambitious program that requires tripling the presence of medical clowns in the hospital, ensuring that every hospitalized child can experience a moment of lightness which is an essential element in supporting their recovery.

Because medical clowning is more than just entertainment: it is a genuine therapeutic tool that aids in a child’s recovery. By reducing anxiety related to medical procedures, facilitating cooperation during treatment, and providing emotional support to families and loved ones, medical clowns bring numerous benefits within hospital settings. This practice has been widely documented online through various medical studies. Led by Sharon Juhl (Yool), the program is built on rigorous training that combines artistic practice, child psychology, and hospital ethics.

For its part, Novaterra has always been committed to supporting and contributing to the region’s development through all meaningful avenues. With values of respect, integrity, and innovation deeply rooted in its DNA, the company finds strong alignment with Mediclown’s mission and is proud to support the program. “This partnership illustrates how Novaterra, a company deeply rooted in its territory, can play a leading role in the social and human fabric of its region,” shares Emeric Vigier de Latour, Senior Manager – Communication & Marketing.

Supporting initiatives such as Mediclown reminds us that responsible development is not only measured in buildings constructed, but also in the smiles created where they are needed most.
