Team Insights: A Conversation with Amaury Chasteau de Balyon, Financial Analyst at Novaterra
As part of Novaterra’s development team, Amaury is one of the first links in the chain that brings the company’s future projects to life. He shares his journey and experience with us.
Hi Amaury! To start, can you give us a summary of your career path?
I began my career at EY Mauritius in the external audit department, where I worked for just over three years. I then joined the Novaterra team in January 2024 as a Financial Analyst. My main responsibilities include working on financial models, business plans, and the strategic aspects of new projects and the company’s growth—both within and outside Beau Plan.
What academic background did you pursue before starting your career?
I studied finance and earned a degree in Accounting and Finance. I’m currently preparing for Level 3 of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).
What are the most challenging aspects of your job?
As part of the team developing Novaterra’s new projects, I need to understand and master the key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the real estate sector. These could be tied to construction, sales, or implementation. Gaining these new skills is essential to strengthening my expertise in this market. Another challenge is the company’s rapid growth: we’re taking on new types of projects in various sectors, which requires knowledge of different operations and product types. All of this makes the job dynamic and exciting.
Finally, tell us—which types of projects do you enjoy most in your day-to-day work at Novaterra?
I think every project—whether underway or upcoming—has its own unique characteristics. Each one offers an opportunity to learn something new over time. Personally, I enjoy working on operational projects and business plans. The analysis involved is much deeper, which makes it more interesting to me—especially since the company began its diversification strategy. It adds meaning and new challenges to how we think and understand multiple sectors.
Thank you, Amaury!
