Whether beginners or seasoned players, many Novaterra employees have embraced the thrill of padel tennis! With Isla Padel just a stone’s throw from their office in Beau Plan, it’s the ultimate spot to sharpen their skills. Meet three passionate players from the Novateam.
When a top-tier padel club is just a few steps from your office, resisting the temptation to play is nearly impossible! For Loic Mamet, Areff Atchia, and Amaury Chasteau—who all work at Novaterra in the Beau Plan Business Park—Isla Padel in Mon Rocher quickly became their go-to playground.
Sport at Your Doorstep
“Having the opportunity to play a sport just five minutes from the office is a real luxury,” says Amaury Chasteau, Financial Analyst at Novaterra since early 2024. Living nearby, he took full advantage of Isla Padel’s location to make the sport a regular part of his routine after discovering it in 2023. “Now I can play before or after work, which lets me enjoy this stunning setting while being part of a welcoming and dynamic community,” he adds.
For Loic Mamet, Smart City Administrative Manager at Beau Plan, padel has become an essential part of his daily life. Living and working in Beau Plan, he finds Isla Padel to be the perfect fit. “I spend a good chunk of my free time here, and it’s an absolute pleasure. As a father, it’s also the ideal setup—my two young children can play nearby while I’m on the court. And after a match, I love unwinding on the terrace, chatting with fellow players over a drink before heading home.”
Loic, who started playing in 2022, now competes in local tournaments. “Testing myself against the island’s best players is a great challenge, but I never take it too seriously—I play for the love of the game and the people I meet along the way.” He adds: “Padel is the perfect mix of sport and social connection!” Isla Padel’s setting only enhances the experience, with its high-quality courts and a location steeped in history. “The club has a truly unique charm,” Loic explains. “The old chimney, the ruins, the flamboyant trees, and even the nearby stables create a magical atmosphere.”
A Club Like No Other
Areff Atchia, Head of Finance & Administration, shares the same enthusiasm: “The padel courts are excellent, the clubhouse’s modern architecture contrasts beautifully with the old sugar mill chimney and ruins, the staff is welcoming, the coaches are top-notch, and the restaurant is fantastic. What more could you ask for?”
A long-time racket sports enthusiast, Areff picked up padel in 2023 and has been playing regularly since April 2024. He enjoys competing against more experienced players to refine his skills and has his sights set on more tournaments in the near future.
And speaking of tournaments—could an internal Novaterra competition be on the horizon? It might not be such a wild idea! As Areff points out, “There are at least ten of us at Novaterra who play regularly. Finding a match partner is never a problem!”
